Salt Latch is my hinge between tradition and possibility.
It’s where Appalachia meets imagination—part workshop, part storybook, part dream journal.
I’m Tina. I grew up on my grandpap’s homeplace near the top of Cooper Mountain. The ridges and hollers there shaped me. I can take off for a while, sure, but the truth is I always miss the mountains. The beach is beautiful, but it feels too flat, too wide, too exposed. The hills hold me differently—they’re alive, protective, grounding.
The name Salt Latch? I made it up. I’m mixing salts, studying bits of granny witch wisdom, and learning old ways as I go. The “latch” feels like a hinge between what was, what is, and what could be—a small but sturdy piece that holds things together.
Here, you’ll find my shelves:
Mountain Mended → My experiments in old ways—salt blends, oils, charms—and remembering the great-grandmothers I never knew.
Words & Wanderings → Essays, writing prompts, and reflections that spill out on road trips or in quiet mountain kitchens.
Community & Change → Where local roots meet bold action, from buy-local projects to grassroots care.
Future Dreams → Half-wild ideas, hopeful sketches, and visions of what could be.
It’s not polished. It’s alive.
Welcome to the hinge.
